Our apartments are on the white sand beach inside the Roatan Marine Preserve. Our area in Sandy Bay is known as the head of the beach; here you can enjoy a quiet, relaxing vacation. You literally step outside your front door and experience an unspoiled beach to yourself. No crowds nor condominiums are here -- just a private tranquil area. We are secluded but only a short walk to the main road. Area attractions, major supermarkets, banks, ATM', and souvenir shops are only a short ride. Popular West End is only four miles west on the main roadt. Inexpensive transportation is available by taxi ($2.00) or by bus ($0.75). All your needs can be found close by in Coxen Hole only 4 miles to the East.

Our spacious, air conditioned apartments have full sized equipped kitchens with refrigerator, coffee pot,(free coffee provided), microwave, stove, blende, and toaste. Bathrooms are large with hot/cold-pressurized water. Apartment rates include Cable T.V., DVD players, and Internet connections. We provide you free use of a cell phone for family or business needs. Phone cards are purchased inexpensively for local and long distance calls.

We can assist you in arranging island tours, diving certifications, dive excursions, see island attractions, fishing charters, and other activities at the best prices.

A pier extends into the Roatan Marine Preserve. It's great for just laying back in hammocks while sipping cocktails in the ocean breezes. Relax and watch the day go by! The upper level can be used for private sunbathing. Each night, from the dock you can enjoy spectacular sunsets. Have you observed the green flash just as the sun sets?

There are many activities just for relaxing or for the most active tourist. As one walks down the beach shells can be found. At the end is a large lagoon. Kayaks can be rented to guide you through the mangrove waterways or to view the crystal clear waters of the reef. The mangrove waterways lead to fishing flats areas excellent for bone fishing. Bring your fly rod and we'll point you in the right direction to our secret fishing holes or use our fishing guides or rental boats.

One of the highlights of your stay with us will be unsurpassed snorkeling to the reef. Just a short swim from the pier at Hobbies Hideaway's pier or beach you will swim with large schools of fish, abundant colorful marine tropicals, turtles, lobster, and beautiful hard and soft corals. Sandy Bay boasts a breathtaking marine aquarium in your front yard. Don't be timid, no sharks. Your snorkeling equipment is included with your rental for free with your stay.
